Petey - Psychic Protection
I was about 7 or 8 when my grandmother died. She didn’t have much but she wanted me to have Petey, a porcelain Japanese doll that had been very special to her. Over the next few years, as I began to pursue my psychic abilities more seriously, I started noticing that Petey’s expression would change depending on what was going on around me. It seemed that he was an emotional barometer for upcoming changes. When things were going to go well, Petey smiled. When things were going to go badly, he frowned. And when things were going to make me sad, his eyes glistened.
At first I thought it was my imagination, but I wasn’t the only one who noticed it! My sisters made comments about Petey and my friends were very freaked out by him. Once when I was in college, my roommate and I had a big fight and I walked out of the room. A few minutes later my roommate came running out to tell me that she had to get out of the room because Petey actually shook his head at her!
It wasn’t long before I started to realize that my grandmother was using Petey to watch over me while I was pushing the edges of my psychic training. I have Petey with me to this very day and I still feel my grandmother’s love and protection coming through him.
