Ace of SwordsAs with all Aces, a hand emerges from the clouds to offer the object of the suit, in this case Swords. Swords are the third suit of the Minor Arcana, or the third stage of development. Swords are about action. They sometimes represent a struggle such as the struggle to turn a thought into reality - note the double edge on the Sword depicted in this card. Above the Sword is a crown from which hangs both the laurel of victory and the olive branch of peace. Six (the number of knowledge and harmony) Yods hover above the Sword's guard. The Ace of Swords represents the dawning of a period of action, struggle, and/or conquest. The focus is on pressure, tension, explosive situations, but also moving forward. You will get what you want, because you won't let anything stop or divert you. Have faith in yourself, and soon tensions will ease. You'll experience satisfaction and recognition, and will have a sense of clarity about the world and your place in it. Aces can also indicate a time frame. The Ace of Swords represents Winter.
